Changing Kids’ Lives.
One Bike Experience At Time!
Trips For Kids - Chenango is a youth development organization that uses mountain biking to provide transformative experiences that promote healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness and personal empowerment.
In the Spring 2016 Chenango Composite Mountain Bike Team was established as a part of National Interscholastic Cycling Association and New York State League.
7 racers, two coaches, a lot of fun.
In 2017 we grew bigger and stronger; official Chenango Composite (aka “Bullthistles”) team jerseys; looking like a race team.
In 2018, a part of our team from Norwich and Sherburne formed Galena Growlers team; the original Chenango Composite team changed the name to “Chenango Shredders”.
Trips For Kids – Chenango Ride Club was established to provide organized rides and promote the sport outside the NICA season.
2019 has been a year of new developments and soul searching, for the team and some racers. Many great rides and exciting races. One NY State Champion came from the Shredders camp.
We had some of our racers participate in the US Cup Junior MTB Championship Event at Stroudsburg, PA; three racing XC and one Enduro. Great showing at the National level.
We offer and support three levels of engagement with us and the sport of mountain biking through:
Our objective is to provide mountain bike outings and environmental education to kids, and especially to those who would not otherwise have these opportunities. We use the bike as a tool to teach lessons in personal responsibility, achievement and environmental awareness.
OUR FOCUS IS ON:
Safety => WE STRIVE TO MAKE OUR PROGRAMS SAFE AND TEACH KIDS TO KEEP IT THAT WAY
Fun => WE MAKE IT A GAME WITH PURPOSE, AND LET THEM PLAY
Education => WE TEACH THEM SO THEY CAN PLAY HARD, GROW AND BE SAFE!
We guarantee our programs will help you be and feel better.
If not, we'll work with you till you become your best and feel that way too.
